San Andreas Preview Part 1:
The Game
On 19th (North America) and 22nd (Great Britain, Australia and Germany) October San Andreas shall be unleashed! For 2 long years we have been patiently waiting, but now we are only a couple of months away! Hopefully, we shall not be disappointed. Here is the first part of Sandreas' 5-part preview of the upcoming game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
The Game is not set in a City, but actually in a State, but I will get into more detail on that in the next Part of the preview. But we play as a Character named Carl Johnson, who has just recently come out of Jail. He has come back to his home at The Grove in Los Santos (based off Los Angeles), and many terrible things have happened during his absence. Carl has been framed by corrupted Cops and has to save his family and save his family from disaster. The Storyline seems great.
Now, the disadvantage of the past GTA games is the lack of realism! I don't mean in graphics, but I mean in what a person would do in real life. Who is Tommy Vercetti? David Blaine? He never eats, exercises or especially never swims. Wouldnt it be great to do all these things in a Grand Theft Auto Game? Well you can in San Andreas!
The most major of these is eating. You have to feed Carl at least once every few days, and there is no choice. There are many places to go to eat at, such as Burge Shot, Cluckin' Bell, Well Stacked Pizza, Tuff Nut Donuts, and hopefully Cherry Poppers from past games. Also, there will be vendors who should sell Hot Dogs, Ice cream etc. Be careful you don't eat too much, or Carl will become very obese. But don't worry; even if you do become fat, you can always work out at a gym. Gyms have been placed all around San Andreas, so you can work out almost wherever you go. Also, in San Fierro (based off San Francisco), there is a Dojo, so maybe you can learn Ninja Moves? Who knows! Another great thing is the ability to Swim. There are many ways of swimming, such as the Break stoke, Freestyle Swimming and Swimming under the Surface! Although, it is still possible to drown while under water, presumably by lack of oxygen, but you can find oxygen bottles under water to help you stay under longer. Your character also has a Stamina meter, which will help you with various, but if you are in your car and it goes under water, you have a matter of time to get out of it, depending on how high your Stamina Meter is. But theres still much more! You can perform house robberies, but they are very difficult. First of all, it has to be night until you can rob the house, so the resident will likely be asleep. Really, it isn't a very good idea to wear your everyday clothes, so you should go to a shop to buy some special clothes for the job such as dark clothes, a balaclava etc. During a robbery, there shall be a meter on the screen that indicates how much noise you've made. You can also choose a variety of clothes for you to wear however long you want. You can go to various shops such as Binco, SubUrban, or ProLaps to get some new clothes. Another one of the great features of San Andreas is the ability to get a tattoo! All you have to do is go to a Tattoo Parlour, choose a body part to have it put onto, and choose a tattoo! In different cities you can get different designs. Also, if you are a member of a particular gang, you can get a tattoo of that Gangs logo.
Well, so far, San Andreas seems to be an awesome game! Get ready for Part 2 of Sandreas' San Andreas Preview soon!

San Andreas Preview Part 2:
The State
Unlike all past Grand Theft Auto games, San Andreas is not a City, but in fact a State! Rockstar is trying to achieve the almost impossible with this game. The State of San Andreas is based off the real States of California and Nevada. When San Andreas was announced, everyone would have presumed it was based off San Francisco, but that was wrong! Instead there are three cities, which are called Los Santos (Los Angeles), San Fierro (San Francisco) and Las Venturra (Las Vegas).
But of course, a State doesnt just have Cities; it obviously will have towns and villages! Here are the names of a few of the twelve towns in San Andreas: Shady Creeks, Flint County, Whetstone, Fern Ridge, Red County, Dillamore, Angel Pine, Blueberry and Montgomery. There are not just Cities and towns in San Andreas; there is a massive countryside, and thats where all the towns lie. At the foot of Angel Pine, there is a mile high mountain named Mount Chiliad. This mountain is the largest object ever made in any Grand Theft Auto game! But of course, its not just there to look at; with a Quad Bike or an all-terrain Vehicle you can drive to the top of it. Then, while youre at the top, you can see all around you, to a massive landscape. Also in the countryside there are small farms, and there you can probably steal Tractors. Even just having farms in the game adds more realism to it!
The map is supposed to be 4 to 6 times larger than Vice City (well, that is what you would expect from a State)! Its hard to believe that though, because Vice City was supposed to be 2 times larger than GTA 3, and that means San Andreas is about 9 times bigger than Liberty City! That is absolutely amazing!
Well, so far, no map has been released of San Andreas, but on the official San Andreas Website, there is an interactive Map of Los Santos, and hopefully there shall be more on the site soon to come!

San Andreas Preview Part 3:
Los Santos
Los Santos will be San Andreas’ answer to Los Angeles. A City corrupted with Gangs, Drugs and Women. Almost everything you need in a GTA game! In this Part of the Preview we shall take a look at Los Santos.
Well, as you can all tell, the new 3D GTA’s are all set from the Cities from Grand Theft Auto 1.But obviously, none of the Cities was called ‘Los Santos’. Los Santos is a new City that is apart of the State of San Andreas. Though it is unlikely that San Andreas was intended to be a State from its very beginning. The areas from GTA 1’s San Andreas that are in Los Santos are Sunrise. Not much. But, on the Official Los Santos Map there is an area called ‘Richman’, which is obviously based off the GTA 1 Vice Cities ‘Richman Heights’. Why didn’t they put Richman into GTA: Vice City? Who knows?
But of course, most of Los Santos’ locations have been recently invented for the game. Here is a list of most of these Locations:
Mulholland – This is where the entire Drug addicted and Alcoholically influenced Celebrities live, on the hilly land at the Vinewood Sign, overlooking the City of Los Santos. Some of the celebrities that live there include Mad Dogg.
Rodeo – San Andreas’ adaptation of Beverly Hills. This is where all the rich folk go and spend their cash on. The home of many expensive shops.
Ganton – This area, and along with a lot of others, is controlled by Gang Warfare. An important Location in Ganton is The Grove, which is home to the Orange Grove families. Of course, there are rival Gangs, like The Ballas that want that land.
Downtown – The massive commercial district of Los Santos.
Santa Marina Beach – A large beach, which is host to a lot of Parties. It is the home of the Santa Marina Pier, which has a Ferris wheel, and probably other amusements. Also, on the San Andreas Trailer, you can see in the distance, a blur that looks very much like a dog! Though I doubt that Rockstar would ever put a Dog into a GTA game.
East Los Santos – The home of many Basketball courts, so this place would be excellent for some exercise! But, its not going to be that easy to have some peace and quiet, since this area is covered by Gang warfare.
Idlewood – A very active Gang War Turf, currently controlled by the Front Yard Ballas, a large part of The Ballas. The home of Smoke, who is a key member of the Orange Grove Families. Also, Idlewood is
Market – Probably a large shopping district that is the home to ‘Blastin’ Fools Records’, a very big Gangster Rap label.
Well, here is the end of Part 3 of Sandreas’ San Andreas Preview. Get ready for Part 4, which will be coming soon!
